IWC LJUBLJANA 1998-2008
During the past ten years Inner Wheel club of Ljubljana has been active in the framework of real friendship, understanding and respect, assisting and helping those in need, mostly young children, teenagers and families.
The members of our club have been particularly proud of their activities aimed at helping the Bosnian children in a refugee camp in Kozina. The project was met with a wide response in Slovenia. The members of our club have become godmothers to young children and teenagers from the Youth Care Centre Malči Belič in Ljubljana. We have been helping them with their school work, visiting them often, talking to them as well as giving them monthly some pocket money. The club members have helped financially a number of young talents to continue their studies, and every year in the framework of the project of the newspaper Nedeljski Dnevnik “A Sparkle in children’s eyes”, financial assistance has been provided for the families and children. Inner Wheel club Ljubljana has been cooperating with the City Museum of Ljubljana and with its donations made possible the purchase of significant objects of historic value for the permanent collection of the City Museum of our home town.
