ABOUT INNER WHEEL
International Inner Wheel is one of the largest women’s organizations with a membership of more than 100,000 members in almost 4,000 Inner Wheel clubs in 102 countries and geographical regions worldwide.
As an NGO, IIW has a consultative status at the UN and consequently a significant role in today’s world. Six members are appointed to represent International Inner Wheel at the United Nations, two in New York, two in Geneva and two in Vienna.
Our application is pending with the Council of Europe and when it gets through IIW will have representatives there too.
The Aims and Objectives of International Inner Wheel
- To promote true friendship
- To encourage the ideals of personal service
- To foster international understanding
The IIW members come from all the continents, from different environments, speak different languages, belong to various nationalities and nevertheless our values and our aims and objectives are the same.
Inner Wheel is a caring organization, not only to its members, but also wider. True friendship is the core of all that is done and achieved by members of Inner Wheel worldwide. Wherever there is an Inner Wheel Club, members from any Inner Wheel club are made very welcome to join in the meetings and so the circle of friends is broadened. Friendship and fun abounds as Inner Wheel members work together to help others less fortunate than themselves by giving support not only to their local communities but much further too, to those in need in Asia, Africa…
Our club meets regularly and has a full and varied programme including speakers on subjects of interest. By meeting regularly friendships are bult, maitained and growing. Interclub meetings are mutually planned when other clubs are invited to join in the joined activities. In this way we have made a lot of new friends in the past ten years.
The Motto of the IIW President Suzanne Nielsen for IW year 2008/2009:
Realise your Visions and Make a Difference
